Lacefront Wig Measuring Guide

This is a guide for measuring your head if you want to further customize your lacefront wigs. Please have your hair as flat as possible and use a soft flexible measuring tape. Measure each section 3 times for accuracy.

Measurement One: This is for the entire circumference of your head. Please measure slightly above the ear and to the nape of the neck for the most accurate measurement.

Measurement Two: It is best to look down at your feet while taking this measurement to ensure that you do not have the wig come too far down the nape of your neck. Make sure the measuring tape is centered down the middle of your head from the center of your hairline.

Measurement Three: The measuring of your forehead should begin slightly above where your ear lobe begins and continues across your hairline to your other ear.

Measurement Four: This should measure across the top of your head from ear to ear.

Measurement Five: Place one side of the measuring tape the temple and then bring the tape across the middle of the back of the head.

Measurement Six: For an accurate measurement place the measuring tape at the lowest part of your hairline on the nape of your neck.

For most people the measurements of small, medium or large will work, especially if you have a stretch lace cap. Men or women with very small heads should consider custom measurements. If you select custom measurements please email us these measurements.

Lacefront Wig Density Options

If you are unsure of which density is best for your custom wig...these photos should help!

Applying a Lacefront Wig

How to Attach your Legends Full Lace Custom Wig:

1) Prepare your hair, by creating a flat surface for the wig to sit. We suggest that you cornrow your hair directly to the back or pin your hair into a flat French roll and then place a stocking cap or a wig liner over your hair. We also recommend using a skin prep or using 90% alcohol on the hairline to remove all oil and residue for a clean surface for the adhesive.

2) Fit the wig on your head, and evaluate how and where you would like the hairline. The goal is to find where the hairline will look most natural. We suggest using eyeliner to lightly mark where the edge of the hairline falls.

3) Gradually starting trimming the excess lace, the goal here is to create your hairline, only cut small amounts off at a time.

4) After you have created your hairline begin applying a small amount adhesive directly to your hairline. Please note that you only need a small amount of adhesive. The more adhesive you use the clumpier it will appear. Gently bring the lacefront wig and press on top of the thin line of adhesive applied on your hairline. Secure it with either the back of a fine tooth comb or use your hands covered by a stocking cap gently for 30-45 seconds. Then allow it to dry and secure it in place.

5) The finished hairline should look totally natural, as if the hair were actually growing from your head. Please do not shower, engage in sporting activities or sweat for up to 12 hours after applying the lacefront wig.

Removing a Lacefront Wig

How to Remove Legends Full Lace Wig:

1) Put all hair up into a ponytail, this prevents adhesive getting on the hair.

2) Apply either the lace adhesive remover or 90% Alcohol to the adhesive around the perimeter of hairline with a cotton swab.

3) Gradually remove the lace, be care not to pull at the lace, Remove slowly if there are parts that stick, douse the cotton swab in more remover or alcohol and apply directly to the area.

4) After you remove the lace, there may be some residue left on the unit, you should shampoo the unit, and with a towel, delicately scrub the residue away. Another method to remove residual adhesive is to press the wig down on glass or a mirror and slide and the residue will stick to the surface and removed from the lace.

5) You should let the unit dry naturally or you can style the unit, how you would normally style your natural hair.

Lacefront Wig Maintenance

Maintaining your Legends Full Lace Custom Wig:

1) When washing your lacefront wig while still on please use extra caution. We suggest placing the hair in two braids. Let the water run through the braids and apply shampoo pre-diluted in water. Do not agitate or manipulate the hair or the scalp of the wig while washing. Use a conditioner as usual. We also suggest sitting under a hooded dryer to let the braids under the wig thoroughly dry.

2) You can wear these wigs for up to 10 days. You can sleep with a satin bonnet or in two gentle braids. We do not recommend taking the wig off to frequently…the lace on the wig will eventually exhibit more wear and tear.

Lacefront Wig FAQ

What is the difference between French and Swiss Lace?
French Lace
French lace is a thicker lace & very durable. We suggest French lace for first timers, because of its strength. It makes for a strong wig cap, but is not as undetectable as the Swiss Lace.
Swiss Lace
Swiss lace is very thin as is known for being undetectable, but not invisible. The lace is fragile, but is not easily torn.

What colors are available in the lace?
Available Colors: Transparent, Beige Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown.
* We suggest selecting a lace color slightly lighter than your skin color

How should I apply the lace wig?
For most people we recommend taking your wig to your stylist the first time you apply the wig. If you are adept at hairstyling, then you may apply the wig yourself. Be prepared and sit down and read our guide that will be shipped along with your wig. It requires necessary materials that we will supply for the application.

How do I know which density to select for my Full Lace Custom Wig?
Density depends on how prominent and strong you'd like your hairline to be on your Full Lace Wig. The most popular choice for density is 80% or 100% density.

How do I know which size to select for my Full Lace Custom Wig?
We recommend taking a measuring tape and measuring the circumference of your head twice. Depending on these measurements you will select the appropriate size. If you would like to further customize the cap to your exact measurements, visit our blog for detailed instructions.

How long will my Custom Wig Last?
It all depends on what your are using the wig for, but the average time is 2-3 years with proper maintenance.

Can I workout, swim or sleep in these wigs?
Yes, yes and yes.

What are Bleached Knots?
-Bleached allows the hair to appear as if it is growing from the scalp. The bleached hair will still help to hide the knots especially when dark hair is tied to the base of a the lace base. Lace cannot hide the knot in the same way a monofilament base does. Bleached knots, usually only done at the lace front and it helps create the illusion that your hair is growing out of your head.
The bleached knots can also be bleached in an area of the unit that is poly coated “thin skin” units. Depending on your hair color, the bleached knots will be light brown or blonde.

What type of hair are the wigs made of?
The hair is all cuticle intact Indian Remy Hair. Some wigs are made of Virgin Hair which has never been processed for texture or color.
